In 1997, no one suspected that the Air Foamposite One would see the light of day. And since then, this design is everywhere. From university grounds to Penny´s feet, and now to the four corners of the globe as a cultural symbol, the Air Foamposite One has risen to iconic status on a memorable journey. It all started with an experimental project led by Eric Avar and the product engineering team at the time. The concept was easy for Eric to visualize; “The idea was simple: what would happen if we immersed our feet in a liquid bath filled with material that would completely envelop them? What if we could play basketball with this creation? That´s where the inspiration came from and I made sure my team got a good idea of the concept, ”he explains, recalling the beginnings of this icon.
